Sixty magical pictures, accompanied by lively short descriptions and trivia, take the reader on an unforgettable journey through the beauty of Florence. The HDR (High Dynamic Range) technique, which gives the image sharper details and renders colours more accurately, was used for Giuseppe Moscato’s photographs.
The Arno flows through a city of enchanting skies dotted with chiaroscuro clouds, entering Florence near the Torre di San Niccolò and leaving it at the Parco delle Cascine. In between we find the history, charm and beauty of Florence, with the Palazzo Vecchio, the Duomo, the Ponte Vecchio and Orsanmichele, as well as Florentines plying ancient trades, such as the bronze craftsman and the tripe seller, and little-known views of the world’s most beautiful city.

Giuseppe Moscato trained in Rome as a watercolourist, but it was in Florence, where he has lived since 2000, that he developed a passion for photography.

Franco Cesati has written numerous successful books about Florence and its history. With Mandragora he has published the long seller The Medici. Story of a European Dynasty.
