Superzelda. The Graphic Life of Zelda Fitzgerald (Minimum Fax)

Dancer, painter, writer , Zelda Sayre (1900-1948) , wife of writer F. Scott Fitzgerald , has embodied the most compared to all of her contemporary the prototype of the "flapper", thus creating a model of alternative and rebellious femininity that has survived well beyond the Roaring Years - thanks also to the works of her husband, that was inspired by her to create the most successful heroines of his novels..

This graphic novel tells her story, from her childhood in Alabama , through the encounter with Scott, the marriage and the scandalous honeymoon in New York, and then travelling in Europe and in Africa, socialising with Ernest Hemingway , Dorothy Parker , John Dos Passos and many other protagonists of the intellectual and artistic scene of the time, until the illness , hospitalization for schizophrenia and the death after a dramatic climax.

Scripted from the novels of her husband, and drawn using the iconography of the time and the family photos of the Fitzgerald house, Superzelda is the portrait in comics of the most reckless and romantic couple of what Gertrude Stein defined "lost generation".
