Done in collaboration with SESV Spazio Espositivo di Santa Verdiana, the volume includes essays by Stefan Tischer and Marco Brizzi, and presents the \u201cOn Air\u201d exhibition, first shown in January 2003 in Lisbon as part of the \u201cSala de Projecto\u201d event. Projects are arranged in three sections: \u201cstudio.eu con i big\u201d (collaboration with other studios: the Superloop project for the ponte Parodi in Genova and the ECOoOoOoO project for the new Florence High-Speed Station), \u201cstudio.eu con gli studenti\u201d (Scandaglio in Francavilla al Mare and Ecoloop in Corigliano Calabro and Rossano), and \u201cstudio.eu\u201d (projects designed and realized by the studio on its own: Drinc Darc for the Venice Biennale infopoint and Italian Fragment for the Festival International de Jardins in Grand-M\u00e9tis, Quebec).<\/p>\n
Paola Cannav\u00f2, Maria Ippolita Nicotera e Francesca Venier live and work in Berlin, where they established studio.eu in 2000. Since then, they have been carrying out pioneering work into the role that landscape can have not only in transforming urban environments but in architectural projects as well. In 2001 the studio attained international recognition by winning first prize in the \u201cCottbus-Ostsee\u201d international competition in Germany and again first prize in the \u201c-D40\u201d competition in Italy; the latter was immediately followed by the execution of the DARC infopoint at the 49. Venice Art Biennale, which won the \u201cMario Ridolfi\u201d prize awarded by the Order of Architects in Rome. In 2003 studio.eu has developed guidelines for the urban project of the new university and law court complex at Pescara and realized installations at the Festival International de Jardins in Grand-M\u00e9tis, Quebec and at the \u201cTempor\u00e4re G\u00e4rten\u201d event in Berlin.
