Pisa Travel Notebook

Toscana Aeroporti S.p.A,is the company that menages the airports of Florence and Pisa, has decided to publish Firenze Travel Notebook and Pisa Travelbook, special tourist guides that invite visitors to ‘slow down’, to experience the cities mindfully and at a leisurely pace, taking the time to observe and take in every precious detail.
With the use of images, anecdotes and historical information, this notebook describes just some of the countless monumental sites and priceless artistic works to be seen in Pisa. The city, according to legend, was founded by Achaean warriors after the Trojan War, but in actual fact, it dates back to Etruscan times. It became, along with Venice, Genoa and Amalfi, one of the four maritime republics in the 11th century. For a considerable time, it was one of the most thriving towns in Italy, prosperous and independent, as attested to by its history and richly decorated ancient buildings.
