Diesse Diagnostica Senese was founded in the 1980s. 2020 is not just an anniversary year, but also the year of the company’s relaunch, thanks also to the investment by the leading European healthcare private equity firm ArchiMed. This is why the numerical, almost cabalistic title: 80.2020.40.
The book accompanied by beautiful illustrations (some of which were kindly provided by the Gruppo Anziani Sclavo), primarily aims to celebrate the history of the Sienese district against a backdrop of the development of laboratory technology, using the firm’s 40th birthday as a good excuse for doing so. This district has succeeded in becoming a global leader in the vaccine sector.
We are currently being projected into a new era of ‘precision’ medicine, in which laboratory data is becoming increasingly important. It is time when measuring an individual’s vital signs, combined with constant monitoring of their lifestyle and habits, sometimes by means of apps, wearable medical devices and data from social media, provides us with a greater understanding of humankind than ever before. This understanding will make it possible to adapt behaviour so as to delay, if not prevent the onset of the diseases to which we’re most susceptible. Diesse Diagnostica Senese is ready to contribute this new era with its innovation.
