Il regno della purezza
edited by Cristina Acidini
from an idea of Xiuzhong Zhang, 5th–28th of July in Palazzo Medici Riccardi, Florence
The volume entitled Han Yuchen. The Realm of Purity tells and accompanies the exhibition of the pictorial work by the chinese artist Han Yuchen, that will last from the 5th until the 28th of July and will take place in Palazzo Medici Riccardi, Florence. The catalogue, edited by the historian of art Cristina Acidini, was born from an idea of Xiuzhong Zhang, President of the Zhong Art International and person interested in keeping alive the intercultural dialogue between Italy and China. The exhibition presents to the audience just a little part of both the work and the numerous techniques and styles used by Han Yuchen during his artistic experience, that begun in 1987, when the artist was trained in the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Pechino. The selection of the opera of Yuchen exhibited in Palazzo Medici Riccardi (and in the city of Florence, that is, the city addressed by the artist as favoured home where to meet his audience, thanks to its famous historic-artistic soul) consists in works made in oil painting and dealing with a unique subject, a unique spatial framework: the autonomous region of Xizang, that is ‘Western Zang’, the so-called Top of the World, Tibet. That region, which always attracted Han Yuchen’s eye as an unspoilt reign inhabited by innocent lives, emerges in his paintings in the form of lost looks of common people, desert and melancholic landscapes, fuzzy animals.
