Leggere a tavola Il Tesoro della Cucina toscana nelle pagine della grande letteratura
Monographsby Andrea Rauch
An internationally famous graphic designer, Andrea Rauch is a voracious reader. This adjective also calls to mind his notorious love for good food, which he inherited from his legendary Sienese maternal grandmother, and from an equally legendary grandpa on his father’s side, who ran a fashionable restaurant on the banks of Lake Orta.
Indeed, this book is the result of a meeting of cuisine and literature. The author “re-interprets” a number of simple traditional recipes through references drawn from children’s and adults’ classics. The references are at times clear, at others less so, but always curious and intriguing.
The fine antique and modern illustrations which enrich this volume are taken from – or inspired by – famous editions of the literary masterpieces quoted by the author.
