exhibition catalogue
Venezia, Palazzo Gradenigo, 6 May-1st November 2026

The catalogue celebrates Ahmet Güneştekin’s exhibition “Sessizlik” (Silence), at Palazzo Gradenigo in Venice: an immersive journey through sculpture and painting that invites visitors to rediscover the value of silence in a world marked by conflict, crisis and information overload. The works, distributed between inside and outside the palace, create a dialogue between historical and transcendent dimension, interweaving myth, memory and current events.

The large bronze sculptures depict human figures suspended between past and future: migrants, workers, vulnerable individuals, symbols of a humanity in transit. The paintings, often traversed by real doors, become thresholds to spiritual and archetypal dimensions. Recurring elements such as skulls and fish evoke the cycle of life, death and rebirth.

Through a powerful and symbolic language, Güneştekin proposes silence as an act of resistance and contemplation, a necessary space for recovering memory, identity and collective consciousness. The exhibition thus takes the form of an invitation to slow down, listen and reconnect with a deeper dimension of existence.
